Finish What You Have Started...

In my experience working with clients one of the biggest challenges I face is dealing with all the excuses...and nothing bugs me more. I just want to scream outloud- do you or do you not want to reach the goals you so emotionally shared with me when we first met?! I am left wondering if I am the only person that seems to care.

Now I understand that life gets busy. And I know that each of us has a million other things we could be doing. Whatever goal you set out to reach, be it weight loss or running a marathon, obstacles will arise. These goals are lofty, and time consuming. They will require that you take time for yourself every single day. But you knew that when you started. You knew you were going to have to get up early to fit in your workout. You knew there would be junk food surrounding you at the office. You knew your family would have to make adjustments in their schedule so you could find time to go to the gym. You knew this was going to be hard. So why all the excuses? This is a rhetorial question because I don't really want you to answer it with another excuse:).

Don't let your setbacks stop you from becoming who you really want to be. Next time you are faced with one of many excuses remember this...Finish What You Have Started! You can do it. Believe in yourself.

Amazing Treadmill Workout!

Yesterday I ran a few miles on the treadmill and then I finished it off with a little manual labor. I turned the treadmill belt off and made my legs provide the power. It was the best workout. My heart rate stayed high and my legs were on fire. I had to keep giving myself a little pep talk to keep the pace quick. I loved it. Give it a try! Finish your next workout with 10 minutes of manual labor on the treadmill. It will burn major calories and tone your legs and butt. Who could ask for more.

I Love the Biggest Loser!

I eagerly anticipate the start of every new season of Biggest Loser. From the first episode I am hooked. This year one of my New Year's Resolution is to cut back my tv time, but BL will stay on the weekly agenda. After watching tonight's episode I can't wait to see the final outcomes. I hope they are as dramatic as last season's. I was blown away by many of the transformations...Rebekah, Danny, Rudy. Yes I am a BL junkie.

I love the show because it is so inspirational. The contestants are faced with one of the biggest challenges they will ever experience. It is an emotional, physical, spiritual and mental rollercoaster. Yet, they do it. Talk about facing your fears head on. Granted they are given many amazing resources. But it is still up to them to get the job done. I am always so proud of them. I have yet to make it through an epidsode without getting choked up.

I am also inspired by both Bob and Jillian. I would love to have his or her job. To be a part of the contestants' journey would be the coolest thing ever. Weight loss is a tricky thing. It is more than just dropping the pounds. You have to be willing to face the dirty issues that got you to that point in the first place. Your support system is a huge part of how successful you will be. I know watching Bob and Jillian work with the BL contestants makes me want to be a better trainer. All my clients better be prepared to get a huge butt kickin'!

Here's to another great season of Biggest Loser! May it motivate us together to accomplish big things.

What Inspires You to be Fit?...

Do you know what it is that inspires you to become and stay fit?

Are you the one who workouts in hopes that your body will one day look like this?

Or maybe it is proving you can do what others said wasn't possible...

Some do it for their children because they want to be a good example. Or maybe it is so you can enjoy lots of healthy years with them.

A personal challenge might do the trick...

or did the doctor tell you your numbers were a bit too high?

Possibly exercise clears your mind and keeps you sane?

Find your inspiration.
Make a visible reminder for yourself.
Read or look at it often!
Now go do something healthy for your body.
